I developed a broken blood vessel in my left eye last week.  That was a first and at first it was pretty scary. I called my eye doctor on his emergency line since it was after hours.  Thankfully he answered and explained that the broken blood vessel was not anything to really worry about. However, it looked bad - and continued to look even worse.  I was really self conscious about it. Then I started to look on the bright side.  I could still see and I knew that this would clear up in a few weeks.  In the meantime, I would just freak a few people out with my "red eye". Right?  When I think back to the story, I've always remembered it as Cinderella goes to the ball and meets Prince Charming.  She did, but that's not the whole story. Do you sometimes get stuck in a rut?  I do!  I usually don't realize i'm stuck until something changes my routine.  When that happens, at least for me, I see different things and I see things differently. Are you in a rut?  What can you do to get out of it? In Joy, Wendy

It seems as if I am always editing.  My closet is always an edit in progress.  Last week it was 2 pairs of shoes that hurt my feet.  I thought - life is too short for uncomfortable shoes! I have a question for you - when was the last time you laughed?  I mean, really from the gut.  The kind of laugh that makes you unable to breathe. Next question - what makes you laugh that hard?  Whatever it is, do it. Life is too short to be serious.  So skip instead of walk, lie down outside and look at the sky, go see a funny movie, watch funny cat video's on YouTube. For just a moment, be silly and ridiculous.
