Intentions
A couple of years ago, my husband and I traveled to Italy for a 3 week trip.
On the way to board our plane to return home, we got questioned by the gatekeepers at the airline. What was your business in Italy? What did you purchase? How long were you here?
When I told the guy 3 weeks, he didn't believe me because we had no checked luggage. We only had the two carry on's that you see here - along with my purse and a backpack.
So much so that the attendant guy said that people bring empty suitcases with them so that they can fill them with their purchases. Us doing just the opposite completely confused him.
My husband and I were not confused at all. Our intention in traveling to Italy was only to enjoy the experiences. The tours, the scenery, the lifestyle, and the food! Our intention made our purchasing decisions for us. We did not second guess ourselves. If it was between purchasing a glass necklace from Murano, Italy or taking a boat tour - we went with the boat tour. If it was a choice between taking a guided tour of a leather shop to see how they make beautiful leather jackets or taking a tour of the Tombs of Santa Croce, we took the tour.
This leads me to a question. What are your intentions? For an upcoming trip, for example? Is it to shop or is it to experience the culture?
Your intentions could lead you to saving money. What might your intention be here? Could you commit to only buying what you need, like groceries, for the next 6 months?
Your intentions could lead you to living a simpler, more fulfilling life. What might your intention be here? Could you commit to decluttering your life of what no longer serves you?
I'd love for you to share with me - what are your intentions? How can they lead you to a more joyful, meaningful life?
In Joy & Confidence,
Wendy
